Tayla Kneller AND Podge O’Donoghue on an amazing weekend and making top 10
First individual comp for both with Tayla finishing 6th in Intermediate women and Podge 7th in Beginner men after 2 days and 5 gruelling workouts.
Well rounded workouts meant that anything was possible this weekend. These 2 stayed strong till the end and gave each workout everything they had. If you saw them at the end of each workout, you would understand
Notable overall 2nd finishes for Tayla in WOD 4 (sled push, drag and lunges) and 3 mins max assault bike with 49.2 Cals, and 2 overall 5th places in WOD1 (80kg deadlifts and box jumps) and WOD3 (fat bar front squats and heavy bench press 40 and 50kg), proving that her lifts were definitely her biggest asset. Not to mention her unfailing determination and tenacity that we get to witness in class.
Podge made a brilliant come back in Wod 5 which got him from 12th to 7th place. Huge effort on the assault bike with 60 Cals earning him 5th place and 4th place in skipping! Podge was on the floor after each workout and we all know he’s giving it his all.
Lots of take aways as usual and lessons learnt for our two which will only fuel that fire to get better for their next comp and help them grow as athletes
We are so proud of you two and how you carried yourselves out there as athletes and competitors, not forgetting the strong friendship you two have forged and the strong banter all weekend
Well done guys and enjoy some down time
